The Shell Show chair, Jae Kellogg,  is pleased to announce that the following people will serve as judges for the 2019 Shell Show:

ARTISTIC

Sue Hobbs—West Cape May, NJ – Shell collector/business owner of Sue Hobbs Specimen Shells with husband Phil Dietz.  She loves working with beginners or advanced shell artists.  Sue also has a cockle shell named in her honor—her favorite!  Welcome back!

Phil Dietz—West Cape May, NJ –Professional artist with MFA from Tyler School of Art.  A metalsmith/jeweler, he is a shell collector/business partner of Sue Hobbs Specimen Shells.  Phil’s personal passion is the love of pearls – used in his jewelry! Welcome back!   

SCIENTIFIC 

Dr. Ed Petuch –Renowned author of 20 published books and 350 papers, he has named over 1200 new species of living shells and fossils!  His research spans over 47 countries and 6 continents.  Petuch is  a Professor Emeritus from Florida Atlantic University, where for 30 years he taught geology, ecology, oceanography, paleontology and malacology!  He and his wife, Linda, live in Jupiter, FL.  Welcome to Marco Island!

Robert Pace – “Exhibitor Extraordinaire”—Winner many times of the prestigious COA and DuPont Awards, including this year (2019)!  Past president and honorary member of both Miami and Broward Shell Clubs and collector with 12 species of shells named for him, Bob is retired after 35 years in the commercial spear-fisherman/lobster business.  He and his wife, Alice, live in Miami.  Welcome back!


DEADLINE FOR SHELL SHOW ENTRY FORMS--FEBRUARY 26, 2019

 NOTE:  Exhibitors are responsible for selecting the correct category for their entries.  Two (2) new categories have been added in each Artistic Class. They are in RED ink – you won’t miss them. We have also updated all the Sailor’s Valentines categories, (pages 14-16). We hope this brings more Valentine makers to our show.  Those who work with the mini/micro shells and sea life in “LIKE” designs (no octagonal case) will also have their own categories.  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.  If in doubt, and to avoid disqualification, prior to submitting your entry form, contact the Shell Show chair.
