Welcome
The Marco Island Shell Club is a friendly and dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for shell enthusiasts at all levels of interest and expertise. The Club season, which begins in late October or early November and continues through March of the next year, includes weekly shell art workshops, which culminate in the annual Shell Show in March. Evening seminars, varied excursions, and the end-of-year celebration and annual meeting at the end of March round out the season.
Our mission is to promote the study, conservation, history, and science of seashells and mollusks, and to encourage shell-related interests, such as shell collecting, crafting and shell art.
NOTE: Because of the coronavirus, there will be no general shell art workshops scheduled through January, 2021. The Club hopes to begin workshops in February, 2021, dependent on the status of coronavirus restrictions, and continue through Friday, March 5, 2021.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of uncertainty as to when club activities will resume in 2021, the club is not accepting applications from new members at this time.
An integral part of the mission of the Marco Island Shell Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is to "promote the study, conservation, science, history and appreciation of seashells and mollusks in all their forms..." The Club depends upon the proceeds from the holiday sale in late fall and the annual Shell Show in March to underwrite scholarships and grants.

Seminars
Each month during our season, presentations about shells or related nature topics are made by qualified experts, who show visuals and often display some of their "finds".
Excursions
The Club plans several excursions for members throughout the season, which include bus trips to nearby shell shows, and shelling excursions. Members should pre-register online for activities they want to attend, even if there is no charge.
